BNS One is a decentralized application (dApp) built on the Stacks blockchain. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of any personal information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use BNS One’s notification services.
No Centralized Headquarters
BNS One operates in a fully decentralized manner and does not maintain a central office or physical headquarters. All data processing and storage are executed via smart contracts and decentralized infrastructure on the Stacks blockchain.
Information We Collect
Email Address
When you subscribe to email notifications or our monthly newsletter, we collect your email address.
Notification Preferences
We record which email notification types you opt into, including:
• A name is sold
• You receive an Offer
• Your Offer is accepted
• You receive a Counter Offer
• Your Counter Offer is accepted
• An Offer is deleted by the offerer
• BNS One Newsletter
Safety Word (Optional)
You have the option to set a personal safety word to enhance the security of email communications. This safety word is securely encrypted and stored in our system.
How We Use Your Information
We use your encrypted email address, safety word and preferences to:
• Send you the specific transaction alerts you’ve requested.
• Deliver our BNS One Newsletter if you subscribe.
• Allow you to manage and update your notification settings via the Dashboard.
Data Retention
We retain your encrypted email address, safety word and notification preferences only for as long as you maintain an active subscription.
Legal Basis for Processing
By ticking the notification boxes and submitting your email address, you expressly consent to receive the selected email notifications.
You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time, and cease to receive future communications.
Encryption and Security
Email addresses and safety words are collected and encrypted on our servers at rest using industry-standard encryption algorithms.
Only authorized services within BNS One can decrypt email addresses and safety words for the sole purpose of delivering notifications. We do not store plaintext email addresses on-chain or in any publicly accessible location.
Our decentralized architecture on the Stacks blockchain ensures that notification delivery logic is transparent and tamper-resistant, while sensitive data remains encrypted off-chain.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
BNS One does not sell, rent, or lease your personal information.
No personal data is published on the blockchain in plaintext.
Opt-Out and Unsubscribe
You can update your notification preferences at any time through the BNS One notification pop-up. To unsubscribe, simply click the "Unsubscribe" link in any notification email you receive, and you will be immediately removed from all mailing lists.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use a simple cookie to track which notifications you have already viewed. This cookie stores the hash ID of each notification you have read and helps provide a better user experience by avoiding repeated alerts.
The cookie is managed via JavaScript, does not collect any personal data, and expires automatically after 30 days.
Children’s Privacy
BNS One is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, technical, or operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of BNS One after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
